3rd Rail At The London Illustration Fair In Pictures

The London Illustration Fair came to a close this Sunday after hosting 69 exhibitors, dozens of workshops and showcasing the work of countless creatives. As well showing a selection of Artist Beer Visions screen prints we also used this as an opportunity to give the screen print series we released for Pick Me Up a bit more air time. It was also a great excuse to release a few more products which included festive tea towels and Christmas jumpers designed by Kristyna Baczynski, a new t-shirt and matching sticker sheet by Tony Riff and a fresh 5 colour screen print release from Hattie Stewart. All new products will be hitting the web store tomorrow (Wednesday 7th December). If you didn’t get a chance to make it down fear not! We’ve compiled this gallery of photos of the highlights across the 4 days.

A Quick Q&A With London Illustration Fair Co-Founder Sam Bennett

We’re super excited to announce that we’ll be one of the many studios and creatives exhibiting at this year’s London Illustration Fair. As well as showing our extensive range of limited edition screen prints you can also expect to find t-shirts, sweats, tea towels and exciting new products from artists such as Kristyna Baczynski, Tony Riff and Hattie Stewart.

We’re pretty nosy here at 3rd Rail HQ so decided to quiz Sam Bennett, one of the co-founders of the fair about the origins of the event, what to expect from this year’s edition and all things illustration world.

Bring Your Event To Life With Live Print

It’s pretty obvious we love screen printing and we’re quite sure that a lot of people would feel the same if they had the chance to try it. In order to engage and stimulate an audience brands and event organisers are having to come up with more and more unique ways to capture their attention whether it’s cocktail tasting, a performance or free products. We’ve been providing a live print service for the past few years however have seen a significant increase in demand over the past 12 months and it’s a not surprising. Not only is it a great way to make your event unique but you’ll also be adding an interactive creative element whilst getting them kitted out branded merchandise which they’ve printed themselves and are therefore less likely to put in the charity bin after 2 weeks.

I Am A Creative Because…

Trying to make a living as an artist is a tough gig and you’d be hard pressed to find anyone working in the industry willing to tell you otherwise. But with the number of art and design students on the rise in the UK* there’s clearly something in it. We decided to ask some of the artists we’ve collaborated with recently to complete the following sentence: I am a creative because…

Pick Me Up Q&A Series: Sean Morris

Sean Morris’ characters live in a surreal semi apocalyptic world inspired by bad horror films, here they practice strange rituals often wearing nothing more than a bikini. This combination would normally result in pretty bizarre work however his simple character based line drawings and naive colour palette make for a winning stylistic combo. He’s bringing t-shirts, vest dresses and a brand new 4 colour screen print edition to our exhibition space at Pick Me Up. Want to know more? Read on…
