Position Available – Online Marketing Intern

Job Title – Online Marketing Intern

The Company

3rd Rail Clothing is a small, ambitious and entrepreneurial screen-printing business specializing in the production of garments for the fashion and music industries, with a recent e-commerce venture selling directly into the fashion market. We are a young and dynamic team with a core interest in creativity, craft and popular culture and the work we do reflects this. The online campaign is currently in its infancy, however we are growing and always looking to innovate and improve. We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to come and be an important member of our small team at an exciting and key stage for the business in its growth and development, with helping to build the brand by developing and implementing the online marketing campaign.

The Job

The position of marketing intern is a 3 month placement helping us build our online presence with a view to gaining experience through practical on the job learning. The role includes updating all social media, writing web and blog content and undertaking assistance in planning a dual targeted online marketing strategy. Our business is and has been primarily focused on B2B until recently, as now we have widened our services to include an online shop targeted at the end consumer. So the job will involve a varied approach on what is essentially two separate projects running in tandem and should provide a great opportunity for a keen graduate or marketeer to play a dynamic role and learn how to help build, develop and implement an online campaign. Travel expenses and lunch will be covered.

Key Objectives

Idea generating and planning for marketing strategy.
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Flickr updates.
Market research.
Writing blog content and reviews on customers, art and design, popular culture, screen printing and fashion.
Re-writing web content.
Creating email newsletters.
Objective development and progress reporting.
Google analytics – Website performance analysis.
Google adwords management.

Experience

We are not looking necessarily for practical experience, although that would be a bonus, we are mainly interested in taking on somebody who is keen to understand our business and has an interest in the written word, fashion, art and design, popular culture and social media. The candidate will need to be able to follow and expand upon the objectives given to them, to be self motivated, independent and enjoy working within a small team. Ultimately we want someone who has drive and ambition and wants to spend three months gaining vital experience while learning in a practical fashion and seeing how much they can help us achieve.

Application

Instead of trawling through dozens of CV’s that don’t give a clear impression of personallity from people who may or may not be serious about the position we thought it may be more beneficial to all if we set a small task for applicants to define themselves. So Along with your CV and covering letter we would like to encourage applicants to send us an example of their work by writing us a small blog post relevant to us and the role itself. The subject should be based around T-shirts and popular culture or any aspect of it, the choice of which is yours. Please make it 200 words long, with at least 3 referenced pictures and accompany it with an example of a Tweet and and Facebook post to promote it.
