Peckham Levels is offering a unique opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes at its member studios. Visit the likes of Kiln Rooms, Bright Rooms, Brother Film Co, Gal-Dem and our own 3rd Rail Print Space. We invite you to join us as we host tote bag, paper and t-shirt printing drop in sessions through out the day. You will also have the chance to see what our members have been working on since we opened in January. You’ll be able to take part in live paper printing, paper cut screen printing, screen print you’re own Gal-dem t-shirt and make a cyanotype. We will be hosting workshops with artists Hello Ditto and Alex Poyner.
We’re really excited to kick off our series of Meet the Maker workshops with graphic artist The Fandangoe Kid. Her bold typographical paste ups championing self love and empowerment have adorned the walls of Peckham Levels as part of a series of commissions and we cant wait to welcome her into 3rd Rail Print Space.
Etemi Otubu is a Budapest-born sewing enthusiast and our studio neighbour at the buzzing Peckham Levels. After being successfully funded through Kickstarter 3rd Rail Print Space has opened its doors for the first time on 25th January 2018. London’s biggest open access screen printing studio is now available to members and running screen printing workshops. Thank you to everyone who stopped by last week and for all those who didn’t manage to catch the event here are a few photos taken by the talented Sabela Peinado over the course of the launch night.
The 3rd Rail Print Space launch is just around the corner and we couldn’t thank Fourpure enough for sponsoring drinks for the event. Their progressive approach to brewing has led them to be named 2017 Brewery Business of the Year at the Society of Independent Brewers annual awards. We had a quick chat with the family owned and run business about the inspiration behind Fourpure can designs and their advice on running a new company.
Having successfully raised over £10.000 on Kickstarter, we are excited to announce our launch event will be held next week, on Thursday 25th January at the recently opened Peckham Levels. We’ve been working around the clock in the studio to turn the unused carpark space into a comprehensive screen printing studio. We have prepared a wide range of exciting events for the opening night to give new members and visitors a taste of what’s to come.
Multi-talented Daisy Emerson is an illustrator, sign writer, hand-letterer and type enthusiast from London. An established hand-letterer has worked with some of the world’s leading companies and brands including Facebook, Google and Adidas.
